Who is responsible

The data controller is SIA "Westa Marine", registration number 40203373603, registered at Respublikas iela 10-6, Liepāja, LV-3401, Latvia. For any question about your data, write to info@westamarine.lv.

What we collect

What you type into the contact form: your name, email address, an optional phone number, the subject, and your message. Apart from that, the site counts visits anonymously, as described under "Visit statistics". There is no advertising pixel, no cookie and no third-party script.

Our hosting provider records standard server data for each request, which it needs in order to serve the page at all:

• your IP address
• your browser and operating system, as your browser reports them
• the time of the request and the page requested

Why we use it

Your contact details are used to answer your enquiry and, where it leads to work, to carry out the contract with you. The legal bases are your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for the enquiry itself, and performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) once we are working together. Server logs are kept on the basis of our legitimate interest in a working, secure website (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Visit statistics

Each page you open sends a short, anonymous report to our web developer, HA Group, at crm.hagroup.lv: the page address without its query, the time, how long the page was in view and how far you scrolled, the site you came from (its domain only), your screen size class, and your browser's language and time zone. No cookie is set and nothing is stored on your device: the visit number that ties the pages of one visit together lives only in the open tab and is gone when you close it. Your IP address is used to deliver the report and is not stored. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, no report is sent at all. We use the statistics to see whether the site is read and which pages work, on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)), and keep them for 13 months.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone's marketing. It is handled by the processors we need in order to operate:

• Amazon Web Services, for hosting and content delivery. The photos and the logo are served from www.westamarine.lv, the company's own existing website. Google, for the map on the contact page.
• Amazon Simple Email Service, for delivering the notification email that carries your enquiry to us.
• HA Group, our web developer, which receives and keeps the anonymous visit statistics for us.

Both operate under a data processing agreement. Where data leaves the EEA it does so under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for 24 months from the last contact, so we can pick up a conversation where it left off. Where an enquiry becomes a contract, the accounting records that result are kept for the period Latvian law requires. Server logs are kept for 90 days.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask us to:

• give you a copy of the data we hold about you (Art. 15)
• correct anything inaccurate (Art. 16)
• delete it (Art. 17)
• restrict how we use it (Art. 18)
• send it to you or another controller in a machine-readable form (Art. 20)
• object to our using it (Art. 21)
• withdraw a consent you have given, at any time, without affecting what was lawful before you did (Art. 7(3))

Write to info@westamarine.lv. We answer within one month. If you are not satisfied you may complain to the Latvian Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija, dvi.gov.lv).

How it is protected

The site is served only over HTTPS. Enquiries travel encrypted and are stored encrypted at rest. Access is limited to the people who need it to answer you.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us their data, write to info@westamarine.lv and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially we will say so on this page, and the date below will change. Continuing to use the site after a change means the new version applies.
